Neroli is one of the key ingredients in Old Faithful Beard Oil. It's also one of the most luxurious and expensive oils around. But what makes it so good?
Neroli has an exceptionally rich, bittersweet aroma with a peppery undertone. The essential oil is extracted from the fragrant flowers of the bitter orange tree, also known as the sour or seville orange tree.
In 1709, the Italian perfumer J.M. Farina launched his blend of neroli, bergamot, lavender, lemon, petitgrain and rosemary onto an unsuspecting world, naming it ‘Eau de Cologne’. The rest, as they say, is history.
For both the emotions and the skin neroli has a great balancing and calming quality. As an ingredient in the Old Faithful Beard Oil (£12 for 10ml) it will help to keep you calm and uplifted throughout the day. Neroli is infamous for helping to keep stress at bay.
Neroli is great for men as it can help balance both oily and dry skin and for this reason is popular with high quality natural skin toning products. If you have been working or partying hard lately it could help with the effects this lifestyle may have on your boyish good looks.
And if this isn’t enough to prick your ears to the benefits of neroli it is also well known for its subtle aphrodisiac qualities. For a night of romance and seduction it blends well with Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Rosemary, Sandalwood and bergamot.
So there you have it. Neroli. One of the most luxurious and expensive essential oils and also one of our favourites. Hope you like it too!
